I started this topic at the end of April and now I want to post an update about Golden Gate Fertility Centre in Puchong. After 6 months of taking Chinese herbs I have just found out I AM PREGNANT! Actually I got pregnant in the 5th cycle and I am absolutely sure this happened due to the treatment offered by Dr Khoo and Dr Lai. OUR STORY We were trying to get pregnant for 1 year before we met Dr Lai & Dr Khoo. It seems not very long, however I am in an advanced age as for pregnancy and my husband had very bad semen results. After only 5-6 months of trying to get pregnant we decided to go for a routine checking, as it is recommended for women over 35 not to wait 1 year as for younger women. After the consultation in Concept Fertility Centre we were advised to go for ICSI as soon as possible due my age and his very bad results. It took place exactly 1 year ago, also end of October. This was an advise that probably all “western medicine” doctors would have given us so I don’t blame anybody.

Even though I really didn’t like the idea of doing IVF I really thought we had no other solution. In those days I was reading a lot in the internet and of course I knew that chinese medicine could be very useful in infertility treatment, but I didn’t realize it can be so effective during so short period of time. I thought we were a difficult case and only IVF could give us chance to get pregnant. So we started planning IVF for June 2011. Before I was looking for an acupuncture treatment as I read it can help to increase IVF chance. This is why I contacted Dr Khoo. On our 1st free consultation he convinced us to try his herbs and we decided to postpone IVF. In the result of these 5 days ago I saw 2 lines on the pregnancy test. First time in my life! I am so grateful we decided to try this treatment. We were so close to IVF and we managed to avoid. Of course my pregnancy is at the very early stage, but no doubt it happened!

TREATMENT As I mentioned in a previous post, you have to go to the clinic every week to have a scan USG and to buy medicines. In the first part of the cycle they monitor how the egg is growing and predict when ovulation happens. In the second part of the cycle they confirm ovulation happened and check the uterus lining. I know my lining improved much during the treatment. Women are also requested to check their body basal temperature every day as the chart is a very good source of information about our body. About the costs; First visit is quite expensive, because blood and urine tests are done both for woman and man. This costs 820RM. Medicine costs 300RM/week/couple for the 4 cycles. If not conceived within 4 cycles you get additional medicine and than the cost is 460/week/couple. Dr Khoo says usually people conceive on 5th or 6th month, but if you are lucky it can even happen earlier. His success rate is very high.

I really recommend Dr Khoo and Dr Lai to everybody who is trying to have a baby especially for people planning go for IVF or even IUI. Give yourself a chance before trying all this invasive methods. You can gain a lot. Just try and be patient for a while, don’t give up too soon. Before we started the treatment me and my husband promised ourselves we would not give up before 8 months. This is my story and it is real. I wanted to share it because 6 months ago I was also looking for information and couldn’t find much. I am not Malaysian and in my country writing opinions on forums is very common. Dr Khoo has many patients but almost nobody is sharing in internet. Thank you Dr Khoo and thank you Dr Lai.
